Spoke Too Soon Ill GSXR, But Now Sorted Now Next Stop Donington

A bit wet at Donington Last yearI spoke to soon yesterday when I said everything was fine. After putting the fuel tank back on I thought I’d give the GSXR a run up to check everything over…. and bugger, the Suzuki is not playing the game. It’s misfiring again. With very little time I have a look around and check the spark plugs, coils and generally hit a brick wall. Nothing is working, as darkness fell I very little option but to put everything away and resort to paying someone to sort it. Haydn had given me a number of a local garage that has a rolling road for dyno-ing bikes, HogDoc in Heywood, not the first thing you would think of, Harleys and race bikes, but they came recommended (even are on the Dynojet website). I give them a call and they offer to help, in fact . Well to cut a long story short, I had been a dullard. I’d connected the primary and secondary injectors up wrongly (stupid to have the same connectors if you ask me). That sorted and a quick run on the dyno showed a not too health power curve. If it wasn’t for a dodgy USB lead connection in the Power Commander and more pressing the fact that I have a mountain of work to get through , I could have had a basic tune put on. Oh well… I have another excuse in the book 😉

So it’s Donington Park for me this weekend. Weather looks iffy, bike with a new engine that could prove to be a bit of lumpy and down on power. What could possibly go wrong? :). Check lists done, World Superbikes from Monza set to record. Next stop Donington and let me start my 2013 season properly this time! (Some nice weather would be good too but that looks unlikely)

Sorry for the slow updates, I’ve been snowed under with bike repairs and work lately

Do you have anything you'd like to add?
