Updated The Expenses Today and Front Wheel Chock

Front Wheel ChockThat was a bit of a shock updating the expenses page today (link). I was always of the opinion that it would get a cheaper each year as I’d have most of the expensive capital out lay in the first year. But with getting new leathers, awning, training and generator (an expense yet to come) it hasn’t quiet worked out that way. Today has been expensive, and though not needed a van does make life a whole lot easier, but the insurance and the tax had put me edge of a mile stone in terms of cost and adding the purchase of a front wheel chock I have just  received tip me over £2000 mark before I have even thrown a leg over the bike this year. Eeek it’s kidney selling time again.

The new chock came without anything to show how to put it together, not that it took an engineering degree to figure out, but a bit of info about where each of the pins should go for the different wheel sizes would have been nice. Out to the garage (in the cold) and back with my wet front and bingo, job done. I’d guessed right any way but it’s nice to test these things anyway. Now I just need to fit it to the van. I might look at quick releasing catches, but will more than likely just use rachet straps. Anyhow that is it, I can’t believe you have read all that, have you all got nothing better to do? 😉

Do you have anything you'd like to add?
